Akeredolu Extends Medical Leave
July 10, (THEWILL) – Ondo State governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has extended his medical vacation.
The Governor, who conveyed the development in a letter forwarded to the State House of Assembly, said the extension followed his doctor’s advice on needing adequate rest after recuperating.
The letter read on Monday, at plenary by the Speaker, Olamide Oladiji, said the Deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, would continue to act as Governor until there is a written declaration to the contrary.

This, the Speaker was in line with Section 190 of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
THEWILL recalled that in an earlier letter dated June 5, 2023, Akeredolu had informed the House of his decision to proceed on medical leave and was expected to resume on July 6, 2023.
The Speaker expressed appreciation to God for the speedy recovery of the Governor.
