Ambode and Tinubu to Hold Meeting Today Over Ministerial Nomination

Former Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode is set to meet with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

This meeting is believed to be the final reconciliation between the two men, who reportedly had a falling out over Ambode’s inability to secure a second-term ticket in 2019.

Tinubu is said to be considering Ambode for a position in his government, and this meeting will likely conclude discussions on that matter.

Ambode lost the ticket of the All Progressives Congress to Babajide Sanwo-Olu in a direct primary election, and there were speculations that his falling out with Tinubu played a role in this decision.

However, Tinubu publicly stated that the decision was made by party members and that he had nothing against Ambode.

The reconciliation between Ambode and Tinubu was initiated by Governor Sanwo-Olu during a visit to Ambode’s home.
