Former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has recently been appointed as a Global Advisor by the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP).
In this role, Osinbajo will be responsible for advancing clean energy deployment in emerging economies and collaborating with governments to improve the effectiveness of clean energy investments.
He will also focus on championing Just Energy Transitions in Africa and expanding Africa’s involvement in the global carbon market through the Africa Carbon Markets Initiative (ACMI).
Osinbajo’s extensive experience in public service and his commitment to critical developmental issues have been praised by the CEO of GEAPP, who believes that his expertise and network will greatly contribute to the organization’s mission of ensuring affordable access to clean energy and facilitating a just transition for all.
Osinbajo confirmed his appointment through a tweet, expressing his excitement and dedication to unlocking capital flows into the clean energy sector.
GEAPP operates as a collaborative initiative, bringing together philanthropic organizations, governments, technology and policy partners, and financing institutions to accelerate universal energy access, foster inclusive economic growth, and contribute to global climate targets.
