July 08, (THEWILL) – A recent interview that Kylian Mbappe granted to France Football Magazine sparked discontent among some Paris Saint-Germain players, as six reached out to club president, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, to express their dissatisfaction.

In the interview, Mbappe referred to PSG as a “divisive” club and claimed that his performances are unfairly criticised due to the challenges of impressing in French football. Although the interview was held on June 12, the article has only just been published, leading to the players’ complaints.

During the conversation with France Football, Mbappe highlighted the tendency of people to trivialise his performances, stating: “In France, they saw me grow up, they see me all the time, at PSG every weekend or in selection. And I’ve been scoring a lot for years. So, for people, it’s becoming normal.” Mbappe acknowledged that being part of PSG could contribute to the divisive nature of the club, attracting gossip. However, he clarified that such criticism does not bother him, as he is aware of his capabilities and performance levels.

As THEWILL reported, Mbappe’s recent communication with PSG revealed his intention not to extend his contract beyond its current expiry date in 2024. Whether he plans to fulfil his deal at Le Parc des Princes or seek a transfer this summer remains uncertain.

PSG, eager to capitalise on their star player if he decides to leave, have set a deadline of July 31 for Mbappe to make a definitive commitment regarding his future.
