Van Der Sar Repatriated To Dutch Hospital For Further Treatment
July 15, (THEWILL) – Former Manchester United goalkeeper, Edwin van der Sar, has returned to the Netherlands for further treatment of his brain bleed.
This was confirmed by his family on Saturday. As THEWILL previously reported, Van der Sar was hospitalised during a holiday in Croatia earlier this month, but his condition has since stabilised and is no longer considered life-threatening. He has now been repatriated and is currently in the intensive care unit of a Dutch hospital, where he will undergo further investigation.
The Van der Sar family were grateful to the University Hospital of Split for their care and hope for Edwin’s recovery.

Fellow Dutch football icon, Jaap Stam, shared his well wishes for Van der Sar, expressing shock at the situation, noting that it is unexpected for something like this to happen to a former player and teammate. Stam highlighted Van der Sar’s active lifestyle and athleticism.
He extended his love and best wishes to the goalkeeper and his family, hoping for a successful recovery and their safety.
